I really want to be able to come home to my front door and either use google assistant google home or a bluetooth connection on my phone to open my door. Outdoor z wave motion sensors are as elusive as z wave canopy fan controllers. My hopes were that z wave would have a longer range but the primary reason was that i was under the impression that. Now when i open my front door all of the z wave outlets turn on and when i close the door they all turn off.

You might need to use another z wave device as a repeater z wave is a mesh network after all if the distance is pretty far away. They regularly recognize make break events and trigger accordingly. Is it possible that the hub and the sensor are too far apart. For a while everything was working fine.

I tried with a 433mhz door sensor but i felt the connection was just a bit too unreliable at range so instead i ordered a z wave me razberry card since it said it had a 200m range and a telldus magnetic switch sensor.
